Pegmatit Hagendorf-Süd (Grube Cornelia; Tagebau Hagendorf-Süd), Hagendorf, Waidhaus, Vohenstrauß, Oberpfälzer Wald, Oberpfalz, Bayern, Deutschland
Zoned granitic phosphate pegmatite, worked mainly for feldspar. The deposit was initially exploited from an open cut, started in 1894 and operated until the 1920s. From 1928 to 1964, it was worked from several shafts. During the 1950s, triphylite was mined as a lithium ore, and about 1,000 tons were raised. In 1964, the lease was taken over by the "Amberger Kaolinwerke", who sunk a new main shaft (Cornelia shaft) down to the 115 m level and started to work the deposit from the open cut again. This and the mine were closed in 1984.
Located SW of Hagendorf, 2.5 km NW of Waidhaus and about 9 km ENE of Vohenstrauß.
