Name:Created by combining the "gr" from grossular and the "and" from andradite.
Synonym of:Andradite-Grossular Series

Originally it was a species name for an intermediate compositional range between grossular and andradite; but since the adoption of the 50% rule it has come to be more of a generic name for the series - used when the exact percentages of Al and Fe aren't known, and hence the species can not be determined.
