Name:After the type locality in the Greater Hinggan (Khingan) Mts, Qiqihaer Prefecture, Heilongjiang Province (Manchuria), China, plus the "-(Y)" suffix in allusion to the dominance of yttrium in the composition.



Gadolinite-Datolite Group. Y analogue of hingganite-(Yb) and hingganite-(Ce).
Difficult to distinguish from gadolinite-(Y).

Originally called yttroceberysite, later redefinition while applying Levinson rule (see references), renamed and IMA-approved in 2007.
