Gold specimens from Leadville are not common on the market, and typically are snatched up immediately by collectors when they are made available. Recently, a local digger discovered a small amount of crystallized Gold specimens on the dumps of the Little Johnnie Mine, and this piece is one of said specimens. The piece features beautiful branching crystallized "leaves", "twigs" and somewhat "wire"-like growths of Gold creating a beautiful thumbnail specimen. I have photographed the Gold under the microscope to better show the detail. A cool little Gold specimen from this historic and classic Colorado locality.
