Beryl v. Emerald

Specimen ID: XNH-Y6H

Title
Beryl v. Emerald
Locality
As recorded:
Cosquez, Boyaca, Colombia
Dimensions
62mm x 48mm
Description
A very impressive specimen! The Emerald is of the fatter type with basel termination, excellent clarity, and good but not superb color (which is why this large crystal was not cut but survived as an affordable specimen). Sits well and draws the eye from across the room. A quite large crystal for a matrix piece from this mine (2.2 x 1.7 CM). Good condition, there are micro chips but no real damage, the "bottom end" of the crystal is contacted and does not show a clear termination. This quality is now very hard to get iCn olombia. A lot of good green glass for the money!
