Several habits and forms (mostly acicular) of Aragonite on and with Calcite. We see very few Korean minerals available, this is a pre 1960 specimen ex Hitchings collection, obtained in 1967. We trust the label and previous collection notes for information about this locality as it is not listed (at least by this spelling) in Mindat. The closest I can find is Chuncheon which does include Aragonite in its mineral list, however very little good mineral data is currently available for the Koreas. The Hitchings were very carful in their mineral notes and this was obtained in trade with Harvard so we assume there is some accuracy here. A choice piece with no damage by naked eye on any side.
