Opinion on finding pockets
Last Updated: 13th Oct 2014By Carson Armstrong
A few days ago, I had a geologist whos found a lot of beryl and other huge crystals and is very knowledgeable coms and assess a pegmatite I was prospecting. after looking it over, he told me where there might be pockets. I have since removed a 3.5'x1'x3' area of pegmatite in the area he believed to be good. all of the rock coming out of there now is VERY iron stained which he stated is a good sign. there also lots of smokey and muscovite along with good feldspar. I have a bunch of rock hammers, a 2 lb sledge, a 10lb sledge and a couple prybars, but these don't seem like the most logical tools nor does this seem like the most logical way to look for pockets. does anyone have any ideas on inexpensive and/or simple ways to determine wether or mot a pocket might be close? thanks
