I'm a 21 year old geology student and rockhound. I've been rockhounding ever since I was small with my dad who is also a geologist, guess it runs in the family. I have a particular interest in gem quality stones, pegmatites and their chemistry. I'm origanily from New England were I use to do a lot of collecting in NH, and NY but now I live on the North Carolina coast and haven't had time to make the trip out to were the collecting is but I can't wait to go! I hope to transfer to UNC Wilmington for this upcoming Fall or Spring semester to get my BS there, it seems like they have a really good geology program but once I get my degree I want to go back up to New England to work and get my Masters.
