Last Updated: 25th Oct 2007

This page should give a quick overview of the variety of habits in which olivenite occurs at the Grube Clara. Comments and further information are welcome.

- Simple, textbook olivenites

- similar to 1, slight striations, color zoning, varying between brown and dark green

- subparallel aggregate of crystals similar to 1

- more elongated crystals, striations more pronounced, but terminations still well defined

- similar to 4, but terminations are starting to multiply

- similar to 2, with fibrous terminations

- flat, lathe like crystals with stepped fibrous terminations

- opaque, simple crystal, with fibrous termination

- spray of flat, acicular crystals with fibrous tips

- sprays of acicular crystals

- elongated, crystals with variable section. How does this occur?
