Working the Tripp Mine early June & Gilsum rock swap
17th Jun 2011
Were done working the Clark mine for 2011. We might pump out one of the Clark pits to see what the previous miners did some time in the fall. For now the focus is on the Tripp Mine. I have made some progress in pumping the water out of the Tripp mine’s main pit. Also started building the entrance road into the main pit and completed other mine site clean-up work. I want to get the mine clean up and infrastructure work done before we start working the mineralized zone. Because as soon as we start chasing the crystals every other task gets put aside.
A plug for the Gilsum Rock Swap 6/25-26/2011. This venue is just a lot of fun. It is free and has over 70 dealers with a very high concentration of collector & rock hound dealers. Therefore there are a lot of sleeps for the silver pick mineral hunt. Toveco will have our silent auction for it's 3th year. Because our focus now is on the lapidary arts Toveco is selling most of the mineral specimens thru this auction.
Now if you are coming to the Gilsum Rock Swap I highly recommend visiting the Vermont Museum of Mining and Minerals located in Grafton VT. Grafton VT is just a short and delightful drive from Gilsum. The museum is a progression of Sue Hadden’s mineral passion that she is generously sharing thru her museum effort. The museum is free (donations are allowed) and any ways just hanging out with Sue is fun.
That’s it for now
