Mineral parties and the prep work no one ever sees...

15th Oct 2007

We are hosting another MAD meeting this Saturday and have guests flying in from around the globe as well as the States, so I am cooking and cleaning, mowing and landscaping, cleaning closets, making beds, rearranging furniture, buying new bed linens, stocking fridges, weed eating flower beds, washing windows, cleaining shelves in 13 mineral cabinets, steam cleaning carpets and winding clocks. Do you think anyone ever really notices all that we women do?!

Sounds like you're a glutton for punishment to me. Personally, I've found that when ever people come over to look at rocks they rarely comment on the state of our landscaping or how clean the closets are. And I doubt they're just being polite. Really, unless the rocks aren't good enough to hold the interest of the punters (and I'm sure that yours are and will), then all you really need to worry about is having enough food and booze to keep everyone satisfied when they can't get to the front of the que to look in the drawers. Wind the clock and you'll just remind folks how late it's getting and if you steam clean the carpets them someone's bound to spill red wine or drop ranch dressing soaked carrot sticks on them. Forget all the unnecessary stuff and maybe you won't notice just how little we men folk get away with doing.
Cheers,
Jesse

And don“t forget that your house will look worse after the folks left then it looked before you started cleaning it up...
