Tucson T Minus 1 and ACK!

10th Feb 2009

Realized camera would not fit in briefcase. Dammit. Briefcase is PERFECT because it has neat pockets for things like the brochures, and I can put the laptop in it. I am not parting with Briefcase.

For the seventy-fifth time I unpack my suitcase (which weighs a comfortable 35 lbs.) and take inventory. Shirts are discarded. The bulky nightgown is replaced by the Victoria's Secret silk one not because I'm expecting any action, but because it takes up less room. Two pairs of jeans become one pair. There is always doing laundry. I then shoehorn the camera in next to the hat that goes with the Geology Jacket.

Another crisis occurs when I realize to my horror (go ahead and laugh, boys) that my makeup isn't packed yet. More luggage tetris ensues until my bare bones kit (which is about six items) fits.

The way home will be much easier, hopefully. My suitcase can be checked, and the large collecting bag taking up room in the bottom of the suitcase will become the carry on. Any extra greeting cards (which are also currently taking up MUCH room in the suitcase) will be shipped home with the display material.

I have about had it. I can't wait to get to the hotel tonight and do NOTHING.
