The Gem Valley NC mine is a family operated lapidary business and one of North Carolina's newest attractions. Gem-Valley LLC is the only public gem-mining/facility in the beautiful mountains of Ashe County, NC!
Located at the historical mine of Ore Knob, you can find us at 2489 Little Peak Creek Road off of Highway 88 in Jefferson/Laurel Springs NC.
PRICES: $10.00 per person for access to the flumes and mining for the entire day (all equipment supplied). Children 5 years old and younger accompanied by a paid adult have Free Admission. Gem-Bucket prices start at $10.00 a bucket and up.
Directions from Raleigh NC: I-40 W to Winston-Salem; US-Hwy. 421 N to Wilkesboro. Take 16 N toward Jefferson, turn right on Hwy 88 East toward Ore Knob/Laurel Springs, turn onto 2489 Little Peak Creek rd off of Hwy 88.
HOURS: May to October: (Thurs-Mon), 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
