AA Mineral Specimens
Update
1st September 2007
Hi everyone,
Here are some of our new additions over the last couple of weeks:
Allanite on Diopside from Mary Kathleen in Queensland, Australia. The specimen was collected from an adit dug while the Mary Kathleen Uranium Deposit in Queensland was being evaluated prior to being mined for uranium.
A nodule of almost pure Azurite from Cobar, NSW, Australia. The blue is just beautiful, and the bladed crystals are very interesting to look at.
A twinned Cassiterite crystal with some smaller crystals from Elsmore, NSW. The Cassiterite is of a very deep, glassy red indicating the purity of the tin oxide.
From Colebrook Hill, Tasmania, a complex sample of Ferro-axinite and Byssolite, with quartz crystals, pyrite and arsenopyrite.
A dendritic cluster of Native Copper with a deep red patina, from Mt Elliot Mine in Queensland.
A large, spectacular Quartz cluster from Torrington, NSW. Many of the crystals are stained lightly pink hematite. The specimen has bit of a twist in the middle that makes it very interesting to hold and examine.
