I do not doubt that it is corundum - I doubt that the right locality is assigned. For me this looks completely different to any Campolungo specimen I have seen so far.

The orange Grossularite garnets are so common at the York River skarn zone that almost every specimen has them. The sample you have lacks these garnets so it may not be from the skarn zone. I don't know the detailed mineralogy of the Highway 620 Grossularite location, in Chandos Township, but from what I remember of it the orange garnets were very common there as well.
