Lost story of an Ixiolite Xl

To whom this may concern

I am just curious... I had a nice black xls which I was glad to sell at the time. I am just curious where it landed.

I remember in the 80"s so long ago I was a welder in a quarry called the Sunset Quarry in Glastonbury Ct. I was always an undercover mineralogist, so I foudn this big seam of decayed pegmatite. Big chunks (20lbs?) of gray quartz full of muscovite xls was washed down a kaolinite flow. I found dark (black) manganese garnets that some one had tested I think. Then there was this black, about 3cm x 2cm x2cm heavy, kind of eugenic xls with growth etching patterns. I think it was metalic black. I think Bruce Jarnot may have had it at one point. Soem onen told me it was identified as ixiolite. If it was....It was the biggest xl of ixiolite I ever saw from Conn or anywhere. It would be good to add a record of that to the Mindat locality for the Sunset Quarry. Too bad I lost so many specimens in moving, I remember interesting manganese crust minerals in the quartzite that Dick Schooner and I collected. So I was curious as to who may have this crystal? Is it really ixiolite? or maybe columbite??
Is it for sale? Is there a photo of it? or is it lost?
