Problems when Registering as new user

Hi,

I've tried to register on MinDat as a new user but have experienced problems. This was at the start of November 2008.

Basically I seem to be entered into the user database but am unable to sign in. Whenever I try to sign in, I receive the following error message:-

Fatal error: phorum_api_user_session_create(): Missing user in environment in /var/www/mindat/phorum5/include/api/user.php on line 2014

When I filled in the online registration form, I didn't include any info about myself at the time - I thought I could leave this blank and edit my details later. After clicking the "submit" button I received a multi-line database error message, the details of which I can't remember now.

At the time I sent an email to the Webmaster (jolyon@mindat.org) but haven't received a reply to date, and I still can't login to the site.

Can someone who administers the Mindat system please assist me? I wish to become a registered user so I can submit both mineral and collecting locality photos for Australian and New Zealand sites, sometime in the future when I am satisfied my efforts are of sufficient quality to appear on Mindat.

ps I have to try using my middle initial to post this, as Mindat popped up another error message - "The name you entered is already registered by another user. If you are that user, please login. Otherwise, please use another name."

Well, you had an old registration here from some number of years ago. I've gone in and deleted them all (3) so you should be able to register again.

Thank you for fixing this up for me.

I had forgotten that I registered years ago (and never made use of that registration). Surprisingly when I tried to register again, the system didn't warn me of the existing registration.

The third entry was when I tried using my alternative email account a day or two ago, and that also failed as my name was registered.
