How to ContributeChild photos

I'm a newcomer, and a total amateur about mineral photography. What is a child photo, and does one use it to see it in 3D?

Rachel,

A child photo is a photo of the same specimen taken from a different angle, or with magnification, or with UV light.etc. After you enter the first photo of a specimen in our database, if you would like to add another or more from different angles etc. you can do this by going to your original photo and clicking on the Edit this Photo button on the tool bar below the image. This will take you to the edit page for that/your specimen. Just a bit below the TN image of your specimen you will see a section of the edit page called: Other Photos of this Specimen. Click on that link and you will be taken to another photo entry page with much of the data of the original image already filled in. This will save you time in entering the data about your specimen. When you finish, of course you will need to click on the Update Photo Information button at the bottom of the page.
