How to ContributeUSA TOPO issues

24th Jun 2012 05:31 UTCJoseph Wodzinski

For several months now thw USA Topo feature has not been functioning. Is this an issue that will soon be resolved and if not you may want to remove it as one of the tabs until a resolution can be reached? Does anyone have a suggestion or an option to this problem?

Joe,

Google has discontinued that map service. The alternate is to go into the maps option for a locality, then go down to the second option below the map "ACME mapper topographic map." That will give you the topo map already set on the coordinates provided in the mindat locality file. It can be moved around like the old Google map; however, the cursor on the map does not move with it like the Mindat tourmaline logo used to.
