How to ContributeHow to change fonts

23rd Mar 2015 23:09 UTCDavid Parfitt

I notice on the new version of the Mindat homepage that some of the text, such as the "Welcome to mindat.org" section and the Photo of the Day caption, appears on my PC (with Windows 8.1 and Mozilla Firefox browser) in a different font to the rest of the text. I also get this font (Lucida Sans Unicode?) in the Best Minerals section of the site. I find it very hard on the eyes and would like to change it to the same font as that used on the rest of the site if possible. Can anyone tell me how to do this, assuming it can be done? Is it a matter of changing browser settings? (On my Nexus 10 (Android) tablet using Firefox everything on Mindat seems to appear in a single font.)

Many thanks

David

In Firefox Preferences / Fonts & Colors / Advanced you can uncheck the option "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selection above"
