How to ContributeRequest of addition to mindat database

9th May 2015 10:22 UTCUwe Ludwig

I had a nice discussion with John Stolz regarding the alpine location "Saukopf". We agreed to add pictures to this location. In my archive I have some pictures of minerals which I found personally at the Saukopf in 1991. However, these minerals are not listed at this location.

First question: How can I extend the list of minerals for this location. Second question: I have a picture of the Saukopf area. Can I add this to the databas, too.

Rgds.

Uwe, you have to edit the locality page and you will have access to an 'add minerals' button.

You must also complete the form with literature or personal references and select the method used to determine how the minerals were identified.

Second question: yes, I do that too, preferently with a good photo description.

Hi Rui,

so far so good. May be a little bit too difficult for an old man:-S.

When I enter the button "Add/Edit Data" I have acess to the button "Add Glossary Item". I assumed this is the way to extend the mineral ist - is it? When I enter "Add Glossary Item" I get an empty page withour any possibility to write down anything.

And where can I write a report about the actual situation of the resp. location together with a picture?

Very mysterious, but I think anybody can instruct me.

Regards

You need to work from the locality page. When you are logged in, you should see an edit tab there.
