I think all the photos you posted under the Newington, Connecticut page [www.mindat.org] are from the former Hartford Drive-In site (there's now a Dunkin' Donuts there, with condos up above - so I didnt know what to call the locality). I just created a mindat page for it, so the pictures can go there, if that's where they are from. Also, photo 163364 can go to the "The Woodlands" page I also just created. I am certain that is the place Fred is referring to as there is no other place that fits the description

Thanks. You are correct - that's the site. It is also commonly referred to even by some dealers as the "Wendy's Quarry" or the Wendy's locality - named for the Wendy's restaurant next to the Dunkin Donuts - where some of the best specimens came from in the 1990s - early 2000s.

That's a coincidence. I drove by there today. Nice looking quarry wall. Should have taken a picture.

I really dont want to use business names for mindat sites as those businesses can change over time. I need to get the street address. I chose the drive-in name as the huge screen with the name "Hartford Drive-In" used to loom large over the street below and was visible for quite a distance.

I stopped at the Wendy;s after work late summer 2008 just after they had finished the blasting. I picked up a few pieces of basalt with white coating. Phrenite? There was not too much too collect.. Under a 10x hand lens there were very small crystals of pyrite or chalcopyrite. I will post photos
