More likely dolomite, iron stained. Acid test will quickly distinguish.


"Undisclosed location" - can we improve this?


Description needs correcting - calcite doesn't form cubes.

Not sure the locality hierarchy is correct. Within "Waterloo Regional Municipality", Cambridge and Waterloo should be at the same level - they are both cities within the Region. Perhaps this is based on the historical Waterloo County which roughly corresponds to Waterloo Regional Municipality. Waterloo County included the cities of Waterloo and Cambridge. But it seems awkward to mix the historical county with the current Waterloo Regional Municipality.

I know of no locality in the Waterloo region with dolomite like that. However I have seen similiar material in glacial float that you can find in the gravel pits in the region.
