Peridot - St John's Island, Red Sea, Egypt

I saw an example of this material at the Royal Ontario Museum and was instantly in love - Simone's piece is a rival and equally impressive, in my humble estimation.

Like other gem varieties, when Peridot is good its very, very good but when it's bad it can be horrid I have a thumb-nail piece in my collection from Soppat that's a lovely apple green with a little Vonsenite/Ludwigite inclusion to add spice. I've seen lovely stones from Peridot AZ USA too.
