i'm sorry but i don't think it's a gwindel...just a big Faden Quartz...

I don't agree - 1) I don't see a faden line, 2) The photography angle probably obscures the gwindel twist some, but from the light reflection it looks like it has one to me, and 3) the owner & photographer has probably handled more quartz crystals of all types than anyone else posting here.

I completely agree with Kelly.

Picture seems to be scanned from a paper copy but is enough to recognize the twist.

I had on my collection a smoky quartz gwindell from Novo Horizonte, Bahia that was just a little lighter that the one on the photo, but showed a well defined twisted plane, so it is possible that the piece on the photo came from Brazil and my guess that it might be also from Novo Horizonte.
