PhotosVesuvianite - Jeffrey Mine, Asbestos, Les Sources RCM, Estrie, Québec, Canada

These do not look like typical Jeffrey Vesuvianite and resemble purple-capped Jeffrey Mine Prehnite crystals in Figure 71, page 405 of the 2013 Mineralogical Record article on the Jeffrey Mine. Have they been checked?

The specimen is prehnite.

Hi László,

My name is Tim Blackwood and I've been enlisted by Brian to upload photos to his gallery. Thank you for providing the correct identity of this specimen. Without the specimen in hand, I was unsure of how to determine what it actually was. I didn't have my copy of the recent Mineralogical Record issue close by. If an editor sees this message, I've made the necessary edits to ID and description, and withdraw my request to have the photos (parent and child) deleted. :-)

Best wishes,

Tim Blackwood
