Bonjour Frédéric,

For me, the colour and matrix are OK for Roughtongill - but one thing worries me. It appears that most of your crystals have pyramid faces at the terminations. I have a number of pieces I collected in the early 1960s at Roughtongill and I am confident of their origin, and none show these nice terminations. They either are flat ended, or sometimes hoppered. Un addition, most I collected are slightly barrel shaped or tapering in form. Nice clean straight crystals as shown in your picture are less common (though not unknown). In the area, driggith mine specimens are usually even more barrel shaped - but there used to be many small localities around and it may have come from one of these. I attach a quich photo of one of my specimens - about 2.5 cms across, to give an idea of the crystal form I think of as typical from Roughtongill..

Amitiés

Tim

PS Félicitations pour vos photos magnifiques!

It seems associated with white tabular Baryte xls. Maybe this will give a clue...
