I would like you'r suggesting about this sample
I 'd found this one under icemount "Les Bossons" near at Chamonix town
It mean carbon but there is a crystal included. we can observ in clos-up a mix of colored micro-crystals
Perhaps whith picture quality, it's visual effect. I can't do perfectly more

Crystal looks like a weathered sulfide with tarnish...Tarnish makes the effect of many colorful dots - it doesn't look like there're mix of microcrystals. Due to the base colour - pyrite maybe?

Pyrite is very common in coal layers. It may cause self-ignition of the coal when it oxidizes and gives heat, and a lot of secondary sulfates are found in coalmines.
