Hi,
I have a fluorite labelled as Bergheim, Alsace, France. The fluorites from Bergheim can be mistaken with fluorites from Berbes, Spain. My specimen is 10 x 7 x 5 cm and has the same dark gray host rock like other Bergheim specimens show here at mindat. But there is one difference. My specimen has crystal faces of hexahedron and rhombododecahedron combinations. Because I haven't seen any other crystal forms other than hexahedrons from Bergheim, I suppose my piece is not from there.
Can anyone confirm my assumption or is the crystal form no distinguishing feature between the two localities?
Best regards
Philip
