not much i know until i buy it, if i buy it...

color - yellowish brown

hardness - im thinking light to med hardness?

crystal habit - needle to blades?

transparency - translucent?

name - unknown?


any help is welcome!

Without any other information, it reminds me of celestite from Upper Michigan that I have seen.

But, without anything to go on other than a photo, I'm afraid you're not going to have much luck.


Edit: You know, sometimes I am a real dumb@$$!!!! I had celestite on the mind when I should have typed "selenite" instead..... :-(

I agree that we need more information. My first thought was natrolite, but that could be way wide of the mark.

Maybe even gypsum (variety "selenite").

I agree with Doug. Looks a lot like selenite from Australia. The base looks more evaporite than zeolite.
