WITHDRAWAL OF AN APPROVED MINERAL

Proposal 2005-012 was approved (mineral and name) in June 2005. The authors have recently submitted additional data on this phase which show that it is merely a monoclinic polytype of mackelveyite-(Y), namely mackelveyite-(Y)-2M. The approval for this proposal is thus

withdrawn.

I made a mistake in the list of minerals approved in March.

IMA 2006-051 has not yet been approved, the handling of this proposal has been suspended until its relation with another mineral is resolved.

I sincerely apologise for this unfortumate error, also towards the authors of the proposal!

Yes Alfredo, 2005-012a: withdrawn. In mindat it can be exist as polytype-2M of mckelveyite.

IMA 2006-055 is the Fe3+ analogue of clinozoisite-(Sr) (ex "niigataite").

Ciao.

Thanks, Marco. Of course, you're right.

This means it must get a new root name?

Dear Ernst,

thank you for the quickly explanation.

And about IMA 2006-052 that is the Fe3+-analogue of IMA 2006-051?

Is the 2006-052 an approved mineral?

Many thansk.

Best regards.

Marco

2006-052 is an approved mineral; it is as yet not clear whether it will be the Fe3+-dominant analogue of 2006-051, that depends on whether this phase will be approved or not. 2006-052 may well be the Fe3+-dominant analogue of another mineral.

Yes of course; I have disclosed the second possibility. Thank you very much.

¿Alguien me puede dar los nombres de los dos nuevos minerales de la Mina Dolores de Pastrana, Murcia ?? Los ha registrado la IMA con los numeros 2006-051 y 2006-052. Muchas gracias

Marcos, no se sabe todavía si 2006-051 va a estar aprobado. En caso de su no aprobación, no tendrá nombre. Su nombre del 2006-052 no ha sido publicado todavía, creo.
