I think the red nodules are oolitic Bauxite. Not sure if black is Obsidian or Coal. If anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated.

If you have a specimen from Yosemite National Park, it was obtained illegally...LOL. That is, if it was after the national park system was inaugurated. The last time I heard, it was illegal to harvest anything from a U.S. national park, reservation, sanctuary, etc. I was sorely tempted when I visited the Petrified Forest many years ago.

Makes me wonder about all the other specimens from 'national parks' here on Mindat, and whether they were obtained legally or not
The picture I just took of my specimen is not perfect, but good enough to get a location I think. Yellowstone or not?
