Can anyone tell me where at the intersection on hwy 119 and 31 the Alabaster chert pit is or was located? I've seen the photo, but it's hard to match it to the area.

Thanks.

Northwest corner of the intersection. It has been reclaimed and is for sale for a building lot.

Thanks, Henry. I thought that might be the location, but wasn't sure. can anything still be found in the immediate area?

Similar material was found under the Lowe's up at the Helena exit and Milton Dye discovered specimens under the furnace foundation for the lime kiln to the north of Hyw. 31 near Saginaw. I found a few pieces of weathered rockbridgeite farther down that same ridge at the aggregate quarry south of Saginaw. Unfortunately, construction is the only time that this stuff is exposed and it comes and goes quickly.
