There was a site similar to this one for fossil collectors called the thefossilforum.com. They did not renew their domain name registration so now it is gone. Does anyone know any sites for fossil collectors to discuss collecting

The forum is not gone. they had a russian hacker upset the site planting trojans all over. They have the site offline to fix the problems. Hopefully they will be back soon.

That's good, I was going to ask if there was a fossil site like Mindat myself - I wanted to ask experts about the many fakes that are out there for sale.

www.thefossilforum.com is back up.
As mentioned in a previous post, the site was apparently hacked. And they removed the malicious code and added security.

Alas, as of checking the site 5 minutes ago, my McAfee Security Advisor indicated that there was still a security problem with the site.
