Philip -- that's quite the Amazonite display! I, unlike Gail, do find these things fantastic.

aaaah, that's more like it! Good to have my morning fix again...

Hey Craig - lovely, delicate colour on the Morganite
Ryan... I would enjoy seeing some other views of the Hessonite... wonderful specimen AND photo
Trevor - (as I duck and cover) my response to Tourmaline is usually "meh" - but I like the looks of your contribution
and while in "duck and cover" mode: move over Gail, make some room for me... Phillip, while you have amassed a great collection of Amazonites and Smokey Quartz... and I understand the appeal, but... well...see Tourmaline, a couple of lines up... winking smiley
And Paul... as usual, a very lovely specimen and photo - great colour

thanks for posting one and all!!

Hey Philip, nice shots of some Rhodochrosite.....what was with those big ole blue and black/brown things hovering around them?
Could hardly see the forest for the trees....

( All in good fun, don't jump down my throat cause I don't get thrilled over Amazonite and smokey quartz... puhleeaaase! )

Phillip,
Two possible reasons.
1)I'm not a member
2)I've been blocked from any input on the message boards due to my past content.
I'm currently working on both.
Thanks,

On the amazonite front, here is one that I self collected in 1993. I have kept it all these years.

We always found more with smokey quartz-amazonite combos, it was rare to find them with great cleavelandite.

Feldspar var. Amazonite on Feldspar var. Cleavelandite
Rocket Mine
Lake George,
Colorado
Specimen is 9cm across.

Self Collected in 1993

Have a great day,

Ryan
