On the picture you see some crystalls of Walpurgin from Schneeberg/Saxony. May be it is from the type locality - the Walpurgis shaft. The material has been removed from historical adits below the old city of Schneeberg. This adits has been filled in the ancient times with the waste material from other historical mines of Schneeberg. The Walpurgis shaft is not far away from the place.

I found it in 2008.

hee hee

Ibrahim, fear not, yours is a mighty respectable size for the locality, decent form, and considerably more aesthetic, I might add!

This is my collections of turds! Actually, Allanite-(Ce) crystals I collected at the Burroughs pegmatite, Jefferson County, Colorado. The longest crystal is 10 cm and these are radioactive, but not as much as the samarskite that also occurs here. These are always fractured in-situ and require repair work.

Hi Rudy!
Had you read my answer to your question about Burma thorite?

Hi Pavel,

I did. Thank you for the information on these interesting zircons from Burma. The specimen on the Crystal-Treasure site was the one that made me come to the conclusion that the piece I purchased was not a thorite. Have you analyzed any of the fergusonites from this locality?

Yes, I have. Ziggy had send me one - (Y.45REE.37U.05)0.87(Nb.90Ta.08Ti.02)1.00O3.64(OH).36. It was very unusual - initially I even recognized it as zircon. It has very weak lustre and very developed prism while dipyramide was almost absent.

Just a cool pic of secondary minerals surrounding a void, where once Uraninite lived.
