You should put the chalcedony nodule locality into our database. It appears that we do not have that locality.

I'll do that Rock. It's so close to Bate's Rd and O&G in Southbury that I used those localities in reference. Maybe I'll take a locality picture too. It's all a housing development now and I collected during construction of the road and foundations about 10-12 yrs ago. I have a photo posted already. How do I change the locality to make it more specific?

Here is a calcite from the Woodbury Traprock Quarry which I collected on May 18, 1980. Measures 3.5 cm x 2.0 cm.

If the more specific locality is not already in mindat, you might end up finding the closest general locality and then edit the locality page and add a sub-locality. Once that is done, go to the new sub locality and add a photo(s).

Hello Jay,

Are you sure that is a microlite? The crystal form suggests zircon?

Nice stuff everybody!
Jay, I think those are zircons crystals from Branchville, they are elongated, microlites are isometric and I dont think were really found much there, whereas zircons are relatively abundant.

Reiner, Your right. I just dug this out of and old flat of stuff I collected as a kid and went with the label I wrote in the 60's without looking further. Many thanks for catching that.

Bradley, that's a good find, all the apatite I have seen from there is massive, it is the right color - in daylight and UV. You should post it to the Walden Gem Quarry mindat page.

I reached into a hole between some boulders at the base a blasted muckpile and felt these two smokys before I saw them, many years ago in Litchfield County.
