Thanks everyone for sharing your faves. Always enjoyable.
Last week I went to my first mineral show for the year and picked up this interesting location piece. At first I thought this was a radiating shorl specimen but was surprised to see the label as stibnite. The location was unusual so it had my curiosity and decided to take it home. This was from Doug Wambold who self-collected it back in 1978 when he was living in New Zealand. He told me the location where this was found was a former gold workings but is no longer there and is now a road. The yellow coating may be cervantite. My fave for the week!

Pseudomalachite elegantly capping malachite, M'sesa, Kambove, Katanga (near Likasi). Found in the late 60's, small cabinet!
Aqcuired at Liège show 2011 for 50 Euros... This opportunity obviously did not escape some important northern Belgium collectors... A great and unusual rock for a cheap price, always pleasant to see for the starters!
Enjoy!

Thanks Tim, you guessed it!
Valère, a great piece for a great deal. Congrats on securing such a fine treasure.
John ~ that Easter Eggate is Eggsellent!
I have about 75 stone eggs in my collection and picked out this one as a holiday companion for the Brandberg Bunny.
Best wishes to all,
stephanie

Posting the egg reminded me of something else I have called "Birds Nest Opal".
These are geodes lined with opal and/or chalcedony. They get their name from their appearance.
I am assuming these are opal-AN, they are very fluorescent. Obtained from Jeremy Fuller.

I agree with Luiz, it is perfection! Both specimen and photo. An inspiration.
My fave today is this xenotime-Y crystal group.

Stephen, that calcite looks like it wants to be a garnet! LOL. Beautiful crystal, I can see why it stays a favourite.
Trevor, great job on mounting the stibiconite, very aesthetic piece.
Something from Sweden today...
Prismatine, Phlogopite, Talc
Stakholmen quarry, Hassela, Nordanstig, Hälsingland, Sweden
Overall ~ 5cm x 3cm
Crystal section approx 2cm x 2cm x 1.5cm

I'm not sure what this calcite is trying to be, but it does somewhat remind me of a maze. Perhaps if it had more time to grow, it may eventually have joined itself, with a result looking rather like an Escher drawing. Another example of the interesting variety of Indian calcite forms.
