In defence of Joseph Freilich.
July 11, 2009 12:27PM
After reading the article by Mr Rob Woodside concerning Mr Joseph Freilich, i felt the need to make known my experience with Joseph.
I have known Joe for several years now, having had numerous dealings with him during this time. Over this period i purchased several high-end & quite expensive specimens. On these pieces Joe offered "on approval" & payment arrangements, where i was able to pay them off over an extended time. I have never had a problem with specimens purchased from Joe.
I have found Joe to be a honest, sincere, and thorough gentleman. Consequently, i am amazed by the accusations leveled at the character of the man. To illustrate my bewilderment: last year i had the pleasure of staying with Joe at his home in N.Y., at his invitation. During this time my mobile phone failed me. Joe paid for the phone bill i incurred, on his phone, in trying to rectify the mess my phone company caused me.
Also, i can truely state that the man does have serious health issues (of which i will not detail)... which only angers me the more, given the comments made at him suggests that this may only be an excuse. *Forgive me Joe for touching on something personal, without your consent.
Surely this whole affair must be down to misconception or misunderstanding, as i can not speak more highly of Joseph. He remains a true friend, great source of unique specimens, and a "friendly" dealer with integrity.
Steve.

Shows that sometimes you know only one side of a person.
