Hi all,

I have this friend that bought this spodumene and loves the character and all, but has some reservations about what we think is MnO dendrites. Any suggestions for safely removing this from specimen?

I personally think if she just took a grinder to it, that'd probably work; but I wanted to give her some options.

Thanks in advance, John

If the coating is very thin, calcium carbonate slurry (sold as Softscrub in the US) and a toothbrush might work.

Aww Jolyon, the cat's out of the bag!

OK Steph, how about I take that beauty off your hands. I'll just open my wallet and start throwing 20s at you until you say "ok"

How's that for a fantasy!

Regards, John

Ok John, now you're talking. Dendrites and all? You haven't even seen the other side. I'll have to post pics later when I'm able, hehe, so you can see all the glorious beauty of what you would be getting.

Howard, thanks for the tip. I'm sure if will be useful to clean dendrites if that was the goal. winking smiley

Long live MnO's!

I have to say I like it! Dendrites are cool and the dendrites on spod is a great combination.
