The mineral Slavíkite was named after František Slavík (1876-1957) a czech professor of Mineralogy at Charles University, Prague. He was dean of Faculty of Science from 1924 to 1925 and rector from 1937 to 1938.

P.S. There is a mistake in the Slavíks data in Slavikite page - he was born 1876.

Lindsleyite is named for Dr. Donald Lindsley, Professor Emeritus of Geology at Stony Brook University. Dr. Lindsley is also a past winner of the Roebling award. Stony Brook University is also home to Dr. Richard Reeder (Reederite). Recently named Rakovanite is named for Dr. John Rakovan, John's PhD supervisor and thesis advisor was Dr. Reeder.

352981 was for lourenswalsite.
The link was already there, but the photo of Mr Wals was not shown because the field "History of Name" was empty - now fixed.

I just added Ian Plimer to Plimerite.
He has just mentioned Mindat on the radio, talking about how chrystotile is not asbestos because it's a serpentine, quoting this site. He may be very disappointed to see this page: [www.mindat.org]

In honor of prof. Zdeněk Pouba,(8.6.1922 - 27.12.2011), czech mineralogist, chair of deposit and economy geology (from 1953 to 1982) in Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic.
