Among my locality and "other" photographs are pictures of:

Robert M. Boggs (Boggsite), Eugene E. Foord (Foordite) (looks like this is already linked), and Benjamin Bartlett (Bart) Cannon (Cannonite)

Do I need to reload them in this different category, or can they be linked somehow?

From the pantheon of Dead White Males, I have uploaded:

A picture of William Logan, see weloganite, photo #248674.

A picture of John William Dawson, see dawsonite, photo #248675.

A picture of John Alexander Dresser, see dresserite, photo #248676.

Still trying for Anne Sabina (took a shot but not sufficiently flattering) and will soon get Carleton U.

I think this is a great addition and that the historical aspect of minerals is often overlooked.

How about doing a picture of the location for minerals that are named after their locality. Minerals such as Tinticite (Tintic Standard Mine, Eureka, Utah), Utahite & Juabite (Centennial Eureka Mine, Juab County, Utah). There are many others as well.

Here is a recent photo of RSW Braithwaite.

Should we perhaps ask permission at least of the living subjects before using their photos???

Thanks for the mindat site - its great

Tim

Hello Uwe,

I took it in April 2008 in my flat in Lyon during a visit.

I haven't specifically asked his permission to put it up...
