Viitaniemi is a classic pegmatite about 50 km ENE of Tampere.
See: http://tupa.gtk.fi/julkaisu/bulletin/bt_314.pdf and mindat.
If you want more information, send me a PM.

Do not forgot bring warm clothes for your visit in the north. Ex. to day fell some snow in the region of Kittilä
In the first of september year 1976 the same region had ab. 10 cm snow.

Good tips from both Ilkka and Ulf indeed.
Mark, I'm hoping to visit Viitaniemi one more time this year, it would be my 15th or 16th time there since around 1979 or so. Perhaps we could go there together?
Let me know if you need a ride from Tampere & to borrow some tools, pails etc temporarily. It might be nice to go together with someone this time. Viitaniemi, however, requires a fair bit of time to find some better/rarer stuff.
Send me a PM if you want. And in the meantime, let's indeed hope the weather doesn't get too freezing quickly ;-) .

Viitaniemi would be most recommended place to visit also from my part.
I will be collecting in Lapland, if weather allows, on the first week of October. Weather forecast predicts more
autumny than wintery weather at this point. Few degrees above 0 C.
I have been there many times in this time of year and like the off-season quietness of the place and bug-free air space most of all.
Cheers
