Just wondering if anyone has dealt with d-h-garske. Seems to be from Tuscon. I'm not posting anything - or + about d-h-garske, I'd like to hear what the mindat community has to say, if anything at all.

I have bought from him many times. He is a great guy, with plenty of oddball minerals, and pretty darned fast shipping!

Dave Garske has been a dealer for many years, way before ebay ever existed. I have bought from him over the years and have always been happy with the specimens. Al

First bought minerals from Dave in 1968 almost when he started. Always fair. Always interesting stuff.

Yeah, first ebay specimens I bought were from Garske. I only wish that the rest of my transactions were near that smooth! He seems to do a lot business, check out how much he sells weekly. But I know from experience that if anything goes wrong with the order, he'll fix it! And that's rare. Can't go wrong with the guy!

I just wish I knew where he got all his stuff? He must have a warehouse somewhere, and a robot to do his cataloging, or else he's one hard-working guy!

WOW ! I guess it should be ok then. He does have some nice stuff on Ebay. I just don't regularly purchase specimens. I enjoy finding the specimens right from the source. Anyhow he does have some specimens I'd like, that I know, I just wouldn't be able to acquire myself, at least not right now. His prices are good. Percentage wise, my collection is populated by aproximately 3 % of specimens which have been acquired through purchase. It's so much fun to go out and collect, it's always an adventure. Too many darn bugs here in CT right now, but it's still ok to be out and about. Looks like rain this weekend, more time to spend prepping field specimens for display or permanent ( really always semi-permanent, he, he ) storage. Perhaps some more of his specimens will land a home, possibly a final pitstop. I've never sold a specimen, it either get's given away, traded, or kept. Specimen preparation is fun.
Well, thanks for the "OK". It should be fun to visit ebay and have another good place to go for minerals. I think it's great, there aren't many dealers around where I live. I think there's a few, I just go to a show here and there, but that's it. HAPPY 4TH OF JULY TO ALL !!!!!!!
BLESSINGS, AND MAY YOUR SHOVELS FIND CRYSTALS.... THANKS AGAIN.

I've bought from Dr. Dave for more than 30 years, mailorder in the earlier days or via eBay more recently, probably 100 - 150 specimens overall. I have never had an issue. Specimens were as described and his photos are as good or better than average on eBay. You'll almost certainly be pleased.

Highly recommended seller!! AAAAA+++++ Would deal with again!

Seriously though, even buying "blind" from his typewritten lists back in the late 70s/early 80s I was never disappointed.

Wow, I am glad for this post. I am always a bit nervous dealing with eBay, and it is good to find someone so recommended. I have added him to my saved sellers list, and already have my eye on a few specimens that he is auctioning. He has some really nice minerals, and as someone else noted, some great pictures. Thanks for the info!

Yep, just talked to my friend Tony Albini, he's been collecting for alot longer than I. He had nothing but good things to say about Dave Garske. I think it's just great to know of someone who's "word" still counts for something. I hope to find some more treasures from Dave. Who know's maybe I'll go give him a visit one day. Great to have a great place to go like Mindat for help. Thanks again Joylon & staff. Cheers.

Wow...what a great round of positive remarks for DH Garske!

Indeed, I'll throw in my .02 too...Dave is a super great guy, his talents far extend past minerals. He does all the listing and photos and shipping from his house in Tucson and he has all sorts of neat oddball minerals and he is always getting more in. I trust his IDs on minerals as much or more than most any other dealer.
