I have never seen an Afghani spodumene anywhere close to this color. The listing says it is heat treated.
Any thoughts?

Yes this has been treated and the color will fade very quickly.

Just out of curiosity, what color are these originally and what color do they fade to?

In a sense, heat treating is also irradiation, because the specimen is irradiated with infrared photons...
