New "Mineral" Auralite

I have started seeing a lot of references to a "mineral" called auralite. Unfortunately the name conflicts with something else, Auralite . Apparently the name auralite sometimes also comes with a number appended (auralite 27). The new auralite is basically amethyst, but supposedly has many included elements, involves a meteorite impact and also comes from the Canadian Shield. So if looking at auralite, beware... To make matters worse, there is an IMA approved mineral called aurolite. I have seen the mystical "mineral", auralite, spelled aurolite.

I knew it, i just knew it, Auralite had to have some connections with a certain person who also gave us Anandalite, Azestulite and a whole lot more. And of course as soon as i typed in Auralite 23 i see his name!

Steve,

Hands off MY mineral (see azurite sponsorship!).

I think "auralite - 23" (sic(k)) might just get my vote for 'most hated mineral name' - mind you, there are other strong contenders - as Jason pointed out...

Cheers

At lest we're not forced to spell it 'aurylyte'.

i can't imagine than someone can believe than a quartz crystals with no visible inclusions can contained 23 or 27 diffrents minerals inside . i know than some people can believe anything but when you can seen the truth with your eyes and choose to ignore it you have a big problem . a simple analyze can show than this quartz specimen contains only SiO2 and less 2% of iron as colouring agent.you can't proved metaphysical things but for a time it's possible to show the evidences of this new scam .bye

Yanick, from what I understand, the canadian miner trademarked this name........not the new age market. Maybe he took lessons from Robert Simmons :)
