Curious about this opal.

I have cut Ethiopian opal that was not stabilized, and had great luck, but it was an excellent piece with no fractures.

I just wanted to give an update on the opal :

I've had the opal set out near the gas heater in my house (Kind of a fireplace) that has been on a bit and also (Due to the pilot light inside it) this place is the driest part of the house.

Still, no cracks.

I will say that the rough material was a solid nodule of opal, with almost no matrix around it and no cracks.

The opals that I have seen crack from Ethopia almost all seem to be of the Honey-coloured material.
