GeneralLuigi Mattei passed away

ize=large>Yesterday our great italian collector and photographer, Luigi Mattei, has passed away.


I would like to leave here a deserve tribute to his invaluable mineral photo legacy in Mindat, with more then 1.700 pictures.


To whom has met ad share with him many topics, for sure will missim him for his humanity and honesty.


Always with you Luigi!

I don't know him personally, but I've seen many times his name and the images he posted. His authority was evident. I offer my sincere condolences to the family and all the friends and collaborators. I'm sure that Luigi take a journey toward a better world and I hope this could be the best confort for everyone.

cava di Montenero.... Riccardo, Riccardo, vieni qui...... ce l'hai la Magnesiohastingsite in collezione?.... No!!. allora spacca questo "sasso" qui e la troverai..... fu cosi!!!!!..... Voglio salutare una un Uomo ed un Amico con cui ho condiviso qualche uscita a "sassi" (purtroppo troppo poche) che non lesinava di dare consigli utili a chi, al contrario di lui, conosceva meno la mineralogia. Lo ricorderò come una persona semplice e sempre disponibile... la Mineralogia ed il G.M.R. hanno perso una grande persona.

Sentite condoglianze alla famiglia ed alla moglie che non conoscevo personalmente ma che una volta vidi accompagnarlo alla cava durante una gita sociale del G.M.R.
