GeneralChanges to Scotland and Wales

20th May 2015 19:19 UTCJolyon Ralph Founder

I have cleaned up the regions for Scotland and Wales to remove the historic counties from our locality strings - this cleans up our locality strings significantly and avoids having current regions broken down into several regions based on what historical regions intersected with the current region.

However... this information is not lost, and these historic names are now moved to the alternative field for 'other region names'. This means that searching for mine names based on an old county name should work exactly as it did before.

I also removed some unnecessary regions in Cumbria for the same reason.

Thank you Jolyon. That North & Western Region etc. has been an irrational annoyance to me for quite some time. :)-D

That's a great clean up. for Wales and Scotland, most of the historic location information was superfluous to collectors.

And for those that have a need to know historic information its not lost.
