My latest painting is a Californian elbaite (need to find the mine name). This is the second of my Tucson commission paintings.

Hi Steve,

I am very familiar with this particular tourmaline crystal, which happens to be from the Himalaya mine [www.mindat.org] near Mesa Grande, San Diego County, California. Very nice work, your watercolors remind me of John Sinkankas' paintings.

Thanks Scott. It's good that you can recognise the specimen. It means I did a reasonable job in rendering it.

John's artwork was superb. Something to aspire to.
